Sock Knocker pours golden orange, with a hoppy, citrus flavor that lingers well into the finish. Amarillo, Centennial, Columbus and Simcoe hops unite to create an immensely floral, botanical nose and a veritable explosion of citrus and pine on the palate. With an even more obscene hop overload than Coronado’s infamous Idiot IPA, Sock Knocker is an India Pale Ale truly deserving of its imperial crown.

Draught. Hazy amber liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of lemon peel, mango, grapefruit, red berries and bread. Taste is very light sweet and medium bitter with notes of mango, lemon peel and grain. Light husky astringency. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Good stuff.

Pine Box Rock Shop, Brooklyn tap: Pours orange, slightly misty, with a white head. Aroma is grapefruit, lemon, and resin. Taste correlates to that entirely. This is pure West Coast style IPA. All the parts are there. Considering it is a double IPA, it is very drinkable. Minimal sweetness. Nice amount of bitterness.

22oz bomber. Unfiltered bright orange-tan body. Foamy white head. Dank, oily hop tones. Classic NW hops, but a little charred. Really has quite a nice hop depth, though the aroma isn’t so in your face. Lemony pine, steady citrus. The simcoe rounds it out with a touch of tropical feel, but it is just one piece in the puzzle. Bright, clean mouthfeel. Resinous, dank finish. Pretty solid beer.

Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry. Fine stinging carbonation. Light malt base, whisper of cream. Bitter pine hops, big hop spice, dry grass. On the back end there is mellow skunk and just a touch of citrus. Dry crisp finish. Spicy linger. Good stuff.

22 oz. bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out sweat socks, herbal hops, and a crackery malt backing. Flavour is along the same lines, with herbal and piney hops. A little sweaty notes in there true to name. Nice and dry palate. Excellent beer.

Pours gold into a tulip. White head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Tropical fruit and resin aromas. Sweet caramel and bread upfront turning to resin in the hot, lasting finish.

Bomber, purchased on the recommendation of Nolen. You all should listen to him, he knows what the hell he is talking about. Pours crystal clear golden with a small off-white head that dissipates fairly quickly leaving nice lacing nevertheless. Aroma is hella dank, citrus, tropical passionfruit, mango, pine. Flavor is light sweet and surprisingly only light bitter, not harsh at all, but really dank and fruity. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Very nice effort.
