(Bottle) Black colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with strong black coffee, cacao, liquorice and vanilla. Malty, roasted sweet taste with notes of sweet espresso, chocolate, liquorice, vanilla, blueberries, caramel and a mild coffee bitterness in the finish. Full body, quite sweet. On the sweet side, but rich and tasty, with a good coffee character. Very nice.

Bottle. Way past BB date, 20200601. Doesn't seem to hurt the beer much though. Feels quite matured, but not really oxidized. It's dark brown in the glass, oily, with a few tan bubbles on top. The aroma has both coffee, licorice, alcohol and molasses, along with some dark dried fruit, spice and toffee. It's full-bodied, warming, smooth and oily, with a low carbonation level. Roasted malts, dark chocolate and coffee, a spiced touch and both brown sugar and molasses in the flavor. Alcohol too. Lasting finish. Nice, although the coffee seems to have faded with cellaring. 231201

Draught@CBC2016. Black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is coffee, some roasted malts, mild dried fruits, alcohol as well as some chocolaty tones. Flavour is coffee, roasted malts, chocolaty, dried fruits, some raisins and a mild touch of alcohol too. Quite pleasant, and has a nice bitterness, which probably is both from the coffee and the hops.

11th May 2019.Almost opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, slightly soft with reasonable fine carbonation. Not quite sumptuous, but getting there. A little soft creamy dark malts, touch of dark chocolate. Soft but rich coffee, slightly fruity and slightly spicy. Drop of Kahlua in there. Smooth spicy finish, fruity earthy coffee in the aftertaste. Tasty and easy drinking.
