From tap at Noordelijk Kerst- en Winterbierenfestival 2016. Aroma is fruity hops, soft dark malt, sweet, some pine, caramel and a slight touch of chocolate. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium. Very mild for a Black IPA, not roasted enough to be a fine example of the style.

0.33 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop' at 7.3% abv, best before May 2019. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a massive, foamy, stable, beige head. Sweetish, fairly fruity-resiny, slightly roasty-malty aroma of tropical fruits, blueberry, pine and some dark chocolate. Quite sweet, slightly bitter, malty, gently roasty, fruity-resiny taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, tropical fruits, blueberry and some pine, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, resiny finish. Medium body, quite effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Nice BIPA, just a bit over-carbonated.

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! A almost black beer with a huge most good lasting beige head. Aroma of liquorice, sweet dark malt, chocolate. Taste of dark roasted malt, chocolate, liquorice, mild bitter hops, okay!
