Even the bravest vikings feared Nidhoggr: a malicious dragon that lives underground. There he gnaws at the roots of the world tree Yggdrasil, waiting for Ragnarok when he'll devour the earth. Imperial Brown Ale brewed with loads of English brown malt and floral American Willamette hops. Pours a thick brown color, roasty on the nose, salmiak and nutty flavors, creamy mouthfeel. Limited to 3000 bottles. Released: March 2017

Bottle shared with Inoven. Unclear hazy brown color, medium sized light brown colored head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, brown malts, a hint of coffee. Taste malts, brown malts, a hint of coffee, slightly dusty, slightly metallic, slightly earthy but all in a good way somehow. Sweetish and moderately bitter at the same time with a distant hint of hops. Medium body and carbonation. Quite nice, well done.

Tap at Arendsnest. Sweet, malty. Caramel salt brown. Drinks smoother than the 8.6% ABV would suggest. Good.

0.33 l bottle from ’Drankenspeciaalzaak van Haastregt/Lamers’, best before February 2018. Clear, very dark brownish red with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of milk chocolate, nuts and some coffee. Rather sweet, malty and slightly roasty taste of milk chocolate, coffee, hazelnut and some licorice, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, quite dry and slightly resiny finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy and quite effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Really nice, a bit dull maybe, but the relatively high abv doesn’t really add that much to it.
