Bottle to snifter.
Appearance: jet black in the pour and in the snifter with a tan foamy two finger head which dissipated slowly but barely left any lace
Aroma: thick roasted malts, deep coffee roast, some cocoa powder, toffee, some vanilla then some light earthy hops
Flavor: roasty and earthy sweet with the toffee clocking in just a touch underneath; slight aftertaste of roasted malts, coffee and vanilla
Texture: medium to full bodied with a great sipping quality about it. Smooth to the tongue; finishes dark roasty and some dryness
Overall: I'd say a very nicely done Russian imperial stout I would very much love to have again.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Black body with a thick tan head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malt and Marmite. Flavour of raisin, espresso and liquorice. Full body with a crew mouthfeel. Soft fizz. This is fantastic - everything I look for in an imperial stout.

A dense, low tan head on a near black body. The nose is fresh ground coffee, cocoa and roasted malt. Well deserved high ratings. Taste profile features nicely roasted malt, coffee, milk chocolate, rich dark berries, toffee, a hint of vanilla and an underlay of citrus hops. Above average density and viscosity, probably from the oatmeal, Great blend, sustains well. A real keeper

2011 aged version in may 2015. Aroma of roasted malts, lots of chocolate, oatmeal, coffee, toffee, hint of dark fruits. Flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth creamy finish. Very enjoyable, massive oatmeal and chocolate aroma.

Notes from November 2011 Goblet. Glugs out of the 22 like old, gooey coffee. No head, just a faint ring of oatmeal. Smells of lightly charred coffee roast. Fumy dark fruit, dusty cocoa, & toasted whole wheat. Sweet burnt nuts & toast. Coffee grounds, rich blackened fruit, fudge, & pungent bitter green hops that linger on & on. Tar. Thick, fudge-y, & barely carbed. Hot. Too Intense. I feel defeated. Where's my teddy bear?

Nagy, tömör, örökké tartó barna hab, fekete szín. Fekete csokis, aszalt szilvás, aszalt cseresznyés, szedres, kávés illat. Kávés, csokis, kicsit poros, aszalt szilvás, szedres, fekete cseresznyés ízek. Testes, enyhén szénsavas, közepesen keserű. Nagyon finom stout, kiváló arányokkal.
