9th Oct 2015: 500ml bottle, BBD 01 Feb 2016. Shared with Marcusm, who brought this with him to my place. Usual lightish brown Alt colour, beige head that hung around. Malty with a nutty taste, semi-sweet and easy to drink. Typical Alt attributes all the way. Better than I thought it would be foe a so called supermarket Alt.

Bottle from trade with McTapp, many thanks. Amber colored beer with small white head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, fruity and coffee notes. Taste, roasted malt, caramel, hints of coffee, bitter hops. Light hoppy bitterness in finish. Nothing wrong with this beer, yes it’s not most exciting beer in world, but it§s pretty easy drinkable.

Bottle. Pours clear tea amber with airy but stable off-white head. Slightly dusty aroma of malt and hops with a subtle touch of caramel. Bitter, hoppy flavour with dusty and malty notes. Bitter aftertaste. OK but nothing revolutionary.

A pretty poor example of an altbier, but I wasn’t expecting a gem either. I know Oettinger caters to the budget market, but even I was surpised to see they made an alt style. Color and head seemed about right, but taste was flat and watery, mouthfeel the same. Stick to Dusseldorf for a true altbier...
