Bottle from Stanislaus Brewskovitch, Zwolle. Aroma is resinous hops with sweet ripe tropical fruits, grapefruit, pine resin, malt, some caramel, touch of apricot. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a firm bitter finish. Body is above medium. Royally flavoured bittersweet IIPA with a resinous and fruity character, good one!

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Slighly hazy deep copper orange colour, creamy off-white head. Aroma of bitter oranges, marmalade, some dank hops, cabbage, alcohol. Flavour is sharp, bitter oranges, marmalade, alcohol, hoppy, firm bitterness. Medium to full bodied. Nice but could do with less alcohol.

Bottle at home on the roof after a beachcombing walk on De Zandmotor. The one where I found a mammoth bone, speaking of monsters from the sea. Near clear dark golden with white head. Sweet malts, big barley, citrus peel and pineapple juice, fudge, custard, resin, honey, spicy vegetal hops, garlic, onion, snake venom, sharp alcoholic. Big sweet and quite bitter too, sharp crispy spicy edge to it. Over medium body and soft carbonation. A bit like a very hoppy and crispy barleywine. --- Beer merged from original tick of Monster Brews - Carcinus on 23 Jul 2018 at 00:15 - Score: 7

Draught, beer flight, at Tap Zuid. Low white head leaving crocheted lacing on the glass. Close to clear amber coloured body. Smell of dried fruits and juicy malts. Pine, dried fruits and bread to the taste character. Resinous bitterness to a long-lived ending, warming down the throat. Full bodied. Enjoying. (Amsterdam 08.03.2018).

Small off-white head, fed by lively carbonated orange-ochre beer. Sweetish citrus nose, some cat's pee/valerian. Some chalk too. Not very imposing; Quite bitter with a sweeter, malty surrounding. In the finish the CO² gives it a near sourish touch, which enhances the citrus. Long bitter-bitterish aftertaste, grapekernels. The aftertaste has also something of dried apricots; Very carbonated, very slick, smooth. I'm certainly not bowled over, but is nowhere bad. 6/4/7/3/14
