Very clean, soft. Light, table strength. Faintly sour. Less carbonated than a traditional Berliner. Goes down very easily. Would be even more refined after some experimental time in barrels. Tastes great with Miles Davis' Get Up With It.

Berliner Weisse by this reputed German sour ale specialist, located east of Münster (closer to the Netherlands than to Berlin), thanks to Meeki for sharing. Egg-white, medium thick, moussy, opening, coarse head on a hazy straw blonde beer with ochre-yellowish tinge. Aroma of sourdough, Sauerkraut, raw gherkins, Granny Smith apple, kimchi, chalk – a very classic Berliner Weisse profile. Same in the mouth: crisp, tart onset, ‘clean’ green apple, cucumber and unripe gooseberry sourness, minerally carbonation, slender soapy-wheaty base with lactic sourdough effect stretching throughout; aspects of kimchi and green gherkin at the back along with that chalky note I found in almost every Berliner Weisse I ever had for some reason, but the lactic sourness gets the last word. Very classically designed for this style even if not made in Berlin – can stand comparison with any other ‘typical’ Berliner Weisse. Well done indeed.

05/VI/21 - 75cl bottle @ home, BB: n/a, batch 2020-01 (2021-454) Thanks to Meeki for sharing the bottle!
Little cloudy yellow to light beige beer, small creamy white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: rather dirty, funky, vinegar, yeast, DMS, more vinegar, very unpleasant. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: watery start, green apples, lemony, pretty acidic, dry, herbal, touch, very thirst quenching. Aftertaste: lemony, fruity, green apples, bitter touch, some tannins, bit watery, thin, lemon, juicy, very acidic. Not so much vinegar, luckily. Tastes much better than it smells!
