Imperial White Grape Saison. One of a series of experimental sharing beers designed to be treated like sparkling wines, this is a very special imperial saison fermented with white grape juice. Minimal hop additions let the grapes’ natural malic acid cut through, adding bite to an elegantly dry, light and fruity character. Saison yeast adds hints of farmhouse phenolics to citrus fruits and pear on the nose.

Pre-Borefts tasting. 75cl Bottle. Golden colour, white head. Aroma of some grapes, sweet malts, light funk. Flavour is very sweet, malty, alcohol, light yeasty, hint of grapes, sweet malty alcoholic finish. Full bodied.

Bottle shared at Kim Yong pre-Borefts tasting. Nice! Hazy dull golden with white head. Flowery, soapy, sweet wheat, alcohol, sweet apple, paper, light grassy. Quite sweet, light bitter and tart. Full bodied.

Borefts pre tasting, 2018. Poured a hazy light amber with a big frothy white head. The aroma is toffee caramel, woody hop. The flavour is moderate acidic sour with a grainy light citrus fruit, yeasty hop bitter palate. Medium medium bodied with average carbonation.

7 3 7 3 13Bottle at Kim Jong Un Buurtcentrum Pre-Borefts ‘18, Zaandam. Fairly hazy golden with a ring off white head. Aroma of herbs, caramel, toffee and light fruits. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle from Cornelius. Pours hazy yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of white grape, white pepper, pear and white bread dough. Taste is white wine, light acidic notes, more peppery spice, pear and melon. Hides the strength well. Good stuff.

Bottle big thanks to Nick. It pours hazy golden with a medium white head. The aroma is sweet, tangy, white grape, gooseberry fool, toasted almond, apple, pear and hay. The taste is sweet, tangy fruit, apple, pear, melon, white grape, gooseberry, toasted oat, almonds, alcohol kick, greengage and warmth through the finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Punchy stuff. Nice grapey character. Fun stuff.
