Traditional (βoudeβ, i.e. unsweetened and 100% lambic) kriek since the summer of 2006. Pale lilac, delicate, moussy, sticky, stable head, colour a pretty dark ruby red, clear at first but misty with deposit, obviously. Complex and credibly authentic lambic aroma of wine vinegar, old sherry, wet hay, sulphur, oak, lemon juice with a very full, genuine and opulent cherry smell nicely woven into it, as well as a touch of elderberries, which are apparently also used in this one. Citric and fruit acidity attacks the tongue at first, deep fresh fruitiness spreading over the entire mouth cavity, rich lambic, tannins, truckloads of red fruit, sticky and even a bit oily, sour and dry in the finish. I was pleasantly surprised this corporate-owned lambic brewery is capable of making such a rich and bountiful old kriek.

Bottle from Night of the great thirst...or was it Moeder lambic? Anyway, bright red pour, mild head that fades fast. Nose is pretty darn great! I was expecting fake sweetness but the cherry tart nose is really great. Taste is oaky, dry, bursting with fruit and nice calm acidity...a touch of balsamic. finish is smooth and lasting.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy pinkish ruby red with a small pink head. Nose brings out semi-sweetened cherries, very subtle funk, and a little acidity. Flavour brings out lots of very tart cherries, moderate acidity, and low funkiness. No nasty vinegary quality, but very tart and moderately acidic. Very well-balanced - probably the best by the brewery. Great one.

Just like the oude gueuze, this beer has some traits of a real kriek, but tastes sweetened and toned down. A shame.

Bottle at home, from Beermerchants.com, 12/04/14. Murky cherry red with a moderate crimson covering that retains well. Nose is tarte cherry, musty, woody twang, cherry cough sweets, cherry dipped straw, light smoke. Taste comprises cherry drops, light smoke, tangy berry fruit, soured cherry skins, woody tang, light must, funky twang. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close laced with tarte cherries notes. Ok fruit lambic, pretty approachable, not too acidic.

Dark red colour, medium carbonation. Very well balanced beer. Very sour taste with fruity aroma of sour cherries. Very refreshing and very good. How a kriek should be.

Vintage 2006. 375ml Bottle (No 98276) from Beer Planet (in 2013). Drink when 8 years old. Powerfull and mega sour and dry acid kriek. Swietny Lambick mocno owocowy i przy tym diabelsko wytrawny, metny jakby miazsz z wisni, pewnie polskich. Malo piany, jak w nalewaniu wina. Cos wspanialego. Wspaniala alternatywa dla drogich wytrawnych win. I cudnie pasuje do czerwonego miesa.
