Oud Beersel Oude Kriek is an artisanal product, made from real cherries and Oud Beersel lambic matured in old barrels. They are slowly absorbed into the lambic, which develops a fruity character and a ruby red colour. Oud Beersel Oude Kriek is unique of its type in that it contains around 400 grams of cherries per litre. Oud Beersel Oude Kriek has no added sugar and contains no artificial flavourings or preservatives.

Oud Beersel Oude Kriek Vieille 750ml Bottle. Vintage 2010. In my cellar from 04.11.2013. Alc was 6,5% in that version. Bardzo wisniowe, sporo tanin i owocowosci. zabarwiona lekko rozowa piana srednio trwala, rozowo-czerwona barwa, nie za spora metnosc, przecudnie pachnie dzikimi wisniami, no w koncu jest ich tu 400g na litr lambicka. Wytrawne, to oczywiste, lekko cierpkie, nieco wanilli w tle, czerwone porzeczki, poziomki, multum owocowosci, a przy tym srednio dzikie, kwasne, ale nie az tak bardzo jak np. Cantillony. Pychotka, doskonale na owocowosc wplynal ten czas jaki mku poswiecila moja wielka i gleboka piwnica. World class Lambic.

0.375 l bottle shared with Caroline and little Dina at the Royal Oak, Eskilstuna. Dark ruby red, medium pink head. Funky, cherry pit, dark cherry, glue, wood, nice dark fruit jam after awhile. Nice sour cherry flavour, intense sourness. Very refreshing. Medium body, light to moderate finish. Tasty but not very complex.

Deep red. Aroma is cherry raspberry oak some aceitic acid and roasted wood. Taste is super dry cherry with some oak notes flourishing around. Fruity body and fruity finish. Not bad for such a dry one.

Bottle. Clear dark red featuring a nice pink head. Aroma of sour cherries galore, oak and tannin. Taste of (surprise) cherries, vinegar, tannin and oak. Tart, sour, vinous and just a bit sweet. Dry finish. Low to medium carbonation. Very balanced and well done. Not really the perfect choice for a cold and rainy night but sometimes you gotta roll with the punches.

Has some body to it, fruity, sour, tart. Sour red cherries, no acidity, a bit sweet, finishes dry. Could use some barnyard funk but not bad.

Man this nails it. The cherries are fresh and full with a mild sweetness, that's countered with a tart aserbic bite that balances it just out. It's good. This is what a Kriek should be.
