Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 03/08/2025.
Copper to deep amber topped with a lasting beige head.
Nose is vanilla, stroopwaffle, caramel, sugar dusting, dried fruit rinds.
Taste comprises toasted brown sugars, syrup, toffee, stewed fruits, raisins, sultanas.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a lick of alcohol.
Tidy enough sipper.

This 33 cl bottle came from an appreciated Belgian retailer. My New Belgium globe glass in place, the pour is delivered. A dark caramel brown with a vigorous top of light tan foam, I am encouraged. I take a sniff, now, that is different. From any other barley wine yet tasted. Wet hay, caramel corn and cereal. The taste improves the reception a considerable amount. I am not saying it is great for a barley wine, but a step up. Stewed figs (if there is such a thing), straw, fruit cake, raisins, chocolate, toffee and dark wheat bread. I really do like the thickness, fuller than most barley wines. The alcohol is not discernible. Yeah, I will finish the bottle, likely my only one.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie Nov 19. Brought by Simon. Thanks Simon. Pours misty golden amber, frothy off white head. Aroma has a hefty toffee sweetness, taste is similarly super sweet, syrupy with some interesting odd soapy moments. A bit too strong for me.

Bottle. Amber color. Biscuity malt and dried fruit in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor, butter, toffee. Quite alcoholic. Still drinkable.

100ml draught at Taphouse. Bubbles on the surface of a golden-brown body, misty. Fair lacing. Mid-sweet and dry aroma of dried fruits and brown malts. Taste of almond, apricot, raisin and caramel malts. Dried fruity ending. Full bodied, but does not feel that strong. Decent, on the sweet side though. (Copenhagen 25.11.2018).
