33cl Bottle at The Black Smith. Deep dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, dark fruits, forest fruits, chocolate, some pumpernickel, banana. Flavour is sweet, sticky, malty, banana, dark fruits, hint of roast, chocolate, light spicy, bittersweet finish, light boozy. Medium bodied. A bit simple and sweet, but certainly enjoyable.

33cl bottle. BB 01/2018. A dark brown beer with a huge most good lasting beige head. Aroma of dark riped fruits, raisins, caramel and some chocolate. Taste of dark mild roasted malt, caramel, burned chocolate, wheat, raisins, nice!

Bottle. Color: Dark ruby, thin off-white head. Taste: Roasted malt, wheat, pretty strong notes of banana, hints of plums, raisins and yeast. Pretty sweet. Average carbonation, medium body. Personally, the banana notes are too strong to like this one.

0.33 l bottle from 'Speciaal Bier Winkel', best before January 2018. Clear, very dark red to black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish, malty, slightly roasty and a bit yeasty aroma of caramel, chocolate, nuts, some overripe banana and a touch of plums. Quite sweet, malty, slightly roasty, moderately yeasty taste of caramel, dark chocolate, even some coffee, licorice, some overripe banana and traces of plums, followed by a medium long, quite bitter, roasty, slightly yeasty and maybe a little smoky finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily and a bit effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very interesting, quite complex actually, but not what you would expect from a Weizenbock.

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus and Ansjelaah. Brown color, opaque, average sized off-white to beige head. Smell and taste malts, sweetish, caramel-ish. Not bad. Don’t really like this style usually, but this is pretty nice.

Draft at Davo. Dark brown pour. Aroma and flavor of caramel, soft wheat, some coffee and fruity banana-ish yeast. Nothing spectacular, does the job.

Tap @ In De Wildeman (as Davobieren Donker Tarwebock). Nice dark color. Dense beige head. Aroma’s: wheat, light roast, light vegetal. Retronasal it’s wheat-fruity, sweetish, light banana, light roasted malts. Flavor is moderate sweet with light (wheat-)fruity sourness. Medium bodied. Soft carbo. Drinks deceptively easy. Light bitterness in the finish. Pretty straightforward Weizenbock.
