Ter Dolen Winter is a creation of our youngest brewmaster Hendrick. For the winter season, he chose to brew a dark beer with a deep red shine. On top of three varieties of malt and two breeds of hops, he added locally produced honey as well as cinnamon.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a deep copper colour with a reddish hue and a medium sized creamy beige head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, cherries, caramel and toasty brown bread. Taste has more dry dark fruits, caramel, a touch more cherries, slight woody notes and some alcohol warmth. Hints of liquorice also. Medium body with average carbonation. Nice winter warmer and not sweet which i like.

Light haze on this reddish amber beer, small pale tan head. Really nice fruity nose, berries and lesser crystallised fruits. Palate is smooth and airy, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a nice caramel and cream sweetness. The berries and crystallised fruits follow the nose and join up nicely with the malts. Traces of brandy and fruit liqueur..Airy finish. Nice job. Has a charm and plenty going on.

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from Beautiful Beers online. Pours clear, deep copper, lightly effervescent, with a moderate, creamy khaki head. Medium to big sweet flavour, some estery notes, toasted bread, a bit of toffee, Belgian yeast, candi sugar, all that good stuff. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Sweet finish, minimal warmth, toasted bready malts, more Belgian yeast, toasted sugars, fruity-berry accents. Really enjoyable.

Bottle from Rotsaert, Zedelgem, Belgium. An amber/brown coloured pour with a healthy off white head on top. Caramel, cinnamon, spice aroma and taste. Quite heavy on the cinnamon but also quite pleasant.

Large foamy light brown head stayed on an unclear dark reddish body. Yeast, malt & red berry aroma. Medium bodied, nicely carbonated with a clean dry back. Sweet berries, honey, spiced & malt tastes with tangy, lightly hopped finish. Tasty!
