Mr. Cocoa is the strongest beer we have ever produced at Fjäderholmarnas Brewery. The beer style is called Imperial Stout, which for us means a double mashing with very generous amounts of hard roasted malt. When the beer has fermented it then rests in the tank and, at this point, we add a generous helping of cocoa nibs. This stylish combination gives a full-bodied, yet humble beer with palpable tones of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate.

Bottle at Katarina Ölkafé, Stockholm, Sweden, Saturday 19th November 2016 Pours pitch black with a slim tan head. Roasty and bitter. Lots of dark bitter chocolate, this is a lovely Impy Stout. Plenty of chocolate on the nose also. Limited review as getting busy in here. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Pours black , good grey head. Smell is roasted malts , milcbitterness, some cocoa . Taste is intense, bit Sharp, roasted malts (very full ) cocoa, bit sweet, rather bitter for the style, very full bodied. Not as silky as i’d like , but very nice carbo. Verage Imperial stout to me. Shouldn’t this be pure chocolate Taste ,As the name suggests?

Flaska från SB. Smak och doft av mörk choklad, rostad malt, espresso med toner av lakrits och körsbär. Kraftfull, fruktig, lagom sötma, torr, något kärv, bra balans, fin beska. Mycket gott!

Sample at SBWF 2016. Black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark malt and some caramel. Similar taste, also licorice. The body was full and the finish long.

Bottled, thanks Nataša! Batch 1. Shared with her and Riba. Black, pitch black body with a small brown head. Interesting aroma, chocolate mixing with butter and alcohol, and yet still fine enough, like a liqueur of sorts. The taste continues on with similar nice sweet chocolatey notes, but then the taste of ethanol (more taste than warmth et al,) pushes it into the ground, drawing comparisons with cheap liquor-filled pralines. Medium bitterness. Silky mouthfeel. Eh, interesting, even unique take at an IS, but messy and, for me, not entirely appealing (well, Riba liked it, so this wasn’t unanimous).

Bottled at the brewpub, Stockholm. Sheer black, mid sized beige head. Rich on chocolate and licorice up front. Sweet with full body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Licorice, crude oil and caramel. Really heavy. Mid bitter finish with some warmth.
