The Midway was the park at the heart of the 1893 world’s fair in Chicago to which people came from far and wide to enjoy. Inspired by this, our Midway Session IPA has the citrus hop hit people love in an easy drinking IPA for everyone.
Goose Midway is a lighter, sessionable IPA, which combines delicate citrus aromas with a balanced malt backbone, evoking tropical and mandarin notes. Using Hallertau, Amarillo, Centennial and Mosaic hops gives this IPA a medium to low malt profile, with a medium to low bitterness.

Golden color with a grapefruit and resin aroma. Bitter hop flavor at the initial taste that disappears quickly to finish with some sweetness. No bitter aftertaste.

Keg at the Rivo Lounge, Chippenham. Golden-yellow with a light haze and a white head. Pleasant tropical fruit, peach and citrusup front gets lighter as you drink more to reveal an unfortunate hint of plastic. Rather thin and insubstantial by the end. Meh.

12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 3/15/2018. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, lightly toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.6%. Overall this is a very nice session IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery. Cascade, Ekuanot, Millennium, Mt. Hood, Pekko, Zythos. Great balanced mix of juicy, dank, and earthy hop complexity; nice pale malt backbone for the ABV. Minimal residual sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

Keg at the Loaded Dog, Leicester. Mellow golden, clear with an unobtrusive ring of white head and a good bit of lacing. Orange peel, Earl Grey, faint grassy smell. An innocuous but pleasant sweetness turns slightly more bitter to a more pleasant but not noticeably less innocuous balanced finish with a suggestion of spicy hop. Watery body compensated by heavier carbonation. Not bad by any means but lacking in the character I was hoping for.
