Sampled draft @ O.B.E.R. Kestbierfestival 2014. (Thx!) Dark hazy brown, beige head. Nose is werid, candy, spice, malt, cold coffee. Taste is not entirely right, herbal, malt, bitter leaves, grainy, odd bitterness,… Cold coffee body. Disappointing, especially coming from this brewery.

Duysters’ winter beer, with an irregular, off-white, quickly dissolving head and very dark brown colour, near to black. Strongly hopped aroma (as in: leafy European hops), bitter chocolate, roastedness, graininess, sourish and even a bit wry in the end, low carbo. A bit weird and unbalanced.

Sampled at OBER Kerstbierfestival Essen 2011. Hazy red-brown color, small off-white head. Don’t smell much, just some malts. Taste malts, slightly sweet, earth. Decent carbonation, decent body.

15cl draft sample @ Kerstbierfestival ’11, Essen.

17/12/2011 on tap @ Kerstbierfestival (Essen) - BB: n/a (2011-714)

Bells are very slowly coming up in the glass, like a nitro draught stout. Pretty cloudy purple brown beer, small white head, more like just a couple of bubbles. Unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: dusty, wood, bit of raisins. MF: very little carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty fruity, strawberries, some sour citrus notes, bitter hops. Aftertaste: very dry, bitter ending. Very English feel to it.
