I am Romulus is a Double India Pale Ale full of oats and wheat for that great full body. Heavily hopped with Citra, Denali, Simcoe, Ekuanot and Mosaic; it’s like his twin brother, Remus, but different.

Can from Stirchley Wines and shared in Bangkok. Poured a hazy straw colour with a thin round white head. The aroma is grainy malt, stone fruits, tropical citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet, with a crisp, fresh, mineral, juicy citrus, dry floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

440ml can side by side with I am Remus @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, May '19, thanks Simon for this. Now as I understand it, Neon Raptor released these two under the premise that there was something slightly different about them. Then revealed there wasn't, apart from colour. But that some people said there was. Well, firstly I'll say this is an excellent DIPA, without a doubt the best I've had from a brewery that seemed to have a shaky start, in terms of what I tried anyway. Smooth, hazy exotics, great balance. Couldn't detect any difference between them, so will duplicate this rating.

26th May 2019, Shrewsbury Beer Share Meeting in Chez Sophie; five of us. 440ml can, vertical tasting with it's brother 'I am Remus'. Cloudy yellow, huge white billowing head. Slight pepper and pineapple aromas and flavours within the tropical fruity brew. The beers are the same by the way.

12th May 2019.
Can. And yet another dipa assigned hazy status for what reason? Nothing the brewer says, nothing on the ingredient list. Ratebeer have well and truly fucked this up by A) Not providing clear definitions of what delineates a so called hazy dipa and B) for trying to split this style anyway. Bad decision to split, badly documented and badly implemented. Well done! Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth and semi dry palate, decent fine minerally carbonation. Smooth palate, decent fine carbonation. Light creamy sweet malts. Hops bring pine and mild spice. Tangy citrus with a light tropical fruit vibe. More light spice on the finish. Tidy.
