A truly unique India Pale Ale, this iteration of our Jai Alai IPA boasts the addition of white oak spirals to impart sleek notes of vanilla, coconut and a touch of dill to Jai Alai’s bold citrus and caramel character. The oak also serves to temper the bitterness in the 70 IBU base beer while oak tannins elegantly dry the beer’s body to create a unique drinking experience that still remains true to Jai Alai’s unique qualities.

For me a great beer, not to drink so cold, after some sips subtle aromas of oak, vanilla, sweet, warm alcool, hop, powerful, 22.11.19, at my rented house, Hoofdroop, Amsterdam, lovely with a old Dutsch cheese.

Can @ Christianssand brygghus. Unclear golden body with a big, creamy white head. Aroma is citric fruity, smooth oak and vanilla. Flavor is really smooth with grapefruit, citric fruit, pale malt, oak, vanilla and fine bitterness. Nice body and long lasting smooth and bitter aftertaste. A really pleasant take on the oaked IPA.

Bottle. So, it's another IPA. Yes, it is. Wait. This one is actually not too bad. I guess there is still surprises in the IPA world.

Now this is how you oak age an ipa!! Right off the bat, a big pungent whiff of piney hop resins, and light tropical fruit, and then a good dose of nutty oak. The carb and mouthfeel are just about perfect. The finish is light and crisp, medium bitterness, and a nice piney aftertaste. The oak is not overwhelming, its very complimentary, adding a subtle yet very tasty nutty oak character. Impressive beer!

Can from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Aroma is fruity hops with lots of oak, some vanilla, orange, grapefruit, lychee, biscuity malt, and soft tropical notes. Flavour is light sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium. Fruity and oaky, proves that oak aged IPA can work.

Canned (thanks GodOfThunder!). Amber colour, mediumsized beige foamy ead. Aroma is wood, some fruits and mild vanilla tones. Flavour is fruity, and some wooden tones with vanilla and some bitterness to it.

12 oz can from Joe Canal's, 11/27/22. Never rated this one, eh? Darker orange in color, off white head, strong lace. Wood and earth, light citrus, light vanilla, bit of bread. Decent feel. Decent beer.

A beer I thought had been reviewed, not the case. Time to fix that. I open the 12 oz can, from the local HEB, before pouring into a tulip glass. It arrives a vibrant amber-orange finished by a cushion of off-white foam. I smell fresh yellow fruit and white bread. A drink, yes, this is pretty decent and I’m not an IPA guy. The oak flavor comes through along with peach, grain, mango and a bit of citrus. I remain impressed with Cigar City.
