33cl bottle from K-Citymarket (Helsinki Ruoholahti). Pours close to black with a beige head. Roasty aroma with coffee, dark chocolate, wood and hints of licorice and dark, dried fruits. Medium sweet with high flavour intensity and surpisingly high bittterness as well. Smooth and flavourfull, but also fresh and wild at the same time. Delicious!

Had this back in 2013 on tap, still just as good here, lots of rich chocolate, dark dried fruit shred, charred brown sugar and burnt earthy malts. solid hoppy backing coming through , roast coffee, full bodied, lingering dark malty finish. Excellent.

Roasted and toasted malty with notes of chocolate and some sweet caramel, toffee, singed brown sugar, nice mouthfeel and body, dark malty close, great to revisit a classic.

Kurzrezension vom Vienna Kraft Bier Fest:
Optisch dunkelbraun bis schwarz. Röstiger Duft dunkler Schokolade und leichtem Rauch. Der Antrunk kommt kräftig röstig malzig mit dunklem Schokocharakter. Der Körper zeigt eine gute Fülle, eine sehr feine Rezenz, eine samtige Textur und eine gute Trockenheit. Auf Zunge und Gaumen dominieren die kräftigen Röstmalznoten von Schokolade und leichtem Rauch. Eigentlich relativ einfach, aber eben kräftig. Viel bringt eben viel.

Potent aroma of roasted malts, coffee, peat, licorice, chocolate, slight smoke. Flavour is similar, medium peaty sweetness with some bitterness in the finish. Very thick body. Not as massive as an Imperial Russian Stout, but this is about as good as a ’regular’ Stout gets.

Аромат шикарный, много кофе и кофейных зерен, немного черного шоколада и солода, легкая кислинка. Цвет чернущий, пена отличная, мелкопузырчатая, кофейного цвета. Вкус разочеровал. Сразу много кислости от кофе, при глотке еще большая кислинка, легкие винные нотки. Послевкусие кофейное, с нотками сена и какао. Очень сильная хмелевая горчинка, которая забивает весь вкус. В общем странно, может не та бутылка попалась.

(Cask at Pikkulintu Ruttopuisto, 20250117) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, chocolate, coffee and earth. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were earth, chocolate, burnt malts, coffee ash and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, earth and bitterness. A pleasant burnt brew.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Opaque black brew with an heavy dry bitter taste like coffee, chocolade and dried fruits in an great way, this one is 7,5% strong. But the label is rather dull, beer is great.
