Triple Dry Hopped American India Pale Ale
Trip out with Psychedelic Cat Grass, one of the friskiest IPAs in the Short’siverse. We use Mosaic, Amarillo, and Citra hops (you know, the best ones) to triple dry hop this brew for a full on tropical fruit flavor touchdown complemented by bold aromas of pineapple, mango, and grapefruit. Cat Grass finishes pleasantly dry and bitter, leaving you ready for that next sip…or gulp…we’re not here to judge. We’ll leave the judging to the cats.

Bottle to becher glass. Thank you, Steve.
Appearance: copper/auburn color with a two and a half fingers of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: piney to danky to citrusy hop tones up front with a little bit of pineapple showing up ever so faintly; clean malts underneath
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas to a sweet to bittersweet sort of quality; finishes lemony to piney with dryness
Texture: light to medium bodied; somewhat sessionable; slight smoothness; good carb level
Overall: works as an AIPA with that little bit of "oomph" of wanting to be a West coast styled one.

Super deep, almost completely clear copper, bronze and light brown coloured body with a frothy, but microfoamed 3 centimetre tall light brown and tan head that fades very slowly, but leaves a nice cap on top. Aroma of fresh grass, resin, pine and robust citrus fruits with a lot of earthy and fairly nutty malts behind and a dash of caramelised sugars and some yeast noticeable, too. Medium-bodied; Very strong grassy, herbal, piney and floral hop bitterness strikes first with a great old school bitterness that is very nice, robust, but balanced with a strong malt pungency and some very light caramel and toffee sweetness with a kick of yeast and bread qualities, but the hop bitterness from the alpha acids are front and centre. Aftertaste is great with an old school bitterness, but enough malt balance and subdued toffee sweetness to make this robust and balanced! Overall, a great Michigan take on an old school IPA with real hop bitterness that isn't unfiltered and brings a nutty and earthy malt profile along with some caramel sweetness. Great to sample this one, especially after my Detroit Red Wings were able to beat the [local] Washington Capitals and I was able to see it firsthand with my wife! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Meijer [grocery] from that great state of Michigan (Sault Ste. Marie) on 03-August-2021 for US$9,99/six pack, canned on 17-March-2021 and sampled at my house here in Washington (sadly not Michigan) on 27-October-2021.

Pours a deep copper color. It smells of hops with pine and citrus notes. The flavor is similar with lots of hops bitterness and some caramel malt for balance. Medium bodied. Quite good.

Can from Holiday Market. Pours a clear copper gold with a finger of white foam. Citrus and pineapple nose with pine and malt aromas. More citrus and tropical fruit notes on the palate with caramel, toasted malt, orange peel and pine. Medium bitterness on the finish. Quite dry.

12 oz bottle from De Bierkoning @ home. Cloudy orange golden color. Frothy off white head with little retention. Aroma's: sweetish, tropical fruit, dank/herbal hops. Retronasal: dankish, sweet fruit, light hoppy acidic. Flavor is moderate bitter with some fruity sweetness. Medium bodied. Nice bitter finish. Pretty good stuff.

12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a white head that diminishes quickly. Resinous weed and pine aroma. Flavor also weedy pine, incorporating some grapefruit. Could stand to have a bit more body, but very good.
