Fles gekregen van Roelzie1986. Het is een donkerbruin bier met een volle schuimkraag. Het heeft een gebrande moutige geur. De smaak is moutig, hoppig, chocolade en koffie.

Bottle from the Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Poured a murky dark brown with a massive frothy light tan head. It was so frothy it took me a while to actually taste this! The aroma is rich roasted malt, yeast and some woody light hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth malt liqourice bitter, floral hop palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Not a great beer imo. The combination of flavours is not particularly pleasant.

Bottled, batch 20120315b, dated 30-04-2012, large sample. Slight hazy redbrown color, big frothy light brown head. Aroma is nutty, milk chocolate, slight spicy, slight fruity and candy sugar like, caramel. When taking a sip, there is quite some licorice overwhelming me and taking over the aroma. It was probably already there, but i didnt recognize it yet. Taste is a bit licorice sweet, but also bitter of it. Interesting brew, clearly dominated by the malts and not so by the yeast character. Decent complexity, decent balance although a bit tilting towards the licorice. Ok stuff.
