Rip Current Bodysurfing Belgian style blonde ale 7% A higher ABV than I anticipated when I saw blonde on the can. It’s a deep yellow with a dense creamy white head of foam. Bready aroma with stone fruits (plum & apricot), it’s got a full body and sharp dry finish. The taste is pluots with a bit of wine like sweet Belgian Ale notes though I find it overly carbonic. Ok.

Can from Beer Cats fukubukuro. Pours clear dark gold, some foam but not for long. Nose has a bit of Belgian yeast spices, hint of alcohol and candy sweetness. Tastes has pretty much the same, Belgian character is relatively subtle, clean and not too much character there. Simple and drinkable but not overly exciting.

Pour is a almost clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is mostly grainy and slightly fruity. Flavor is more grain with a slight fruity yeast and spice toward the end. A bit bland but the 7% is hidden well and is not felt.

On tap at Rip Current, pours a clear yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out toasted biscuity malt, sweet cereal notes and light Belgian yeast. Flavour is similar, with straw, Belgian yeast and sweet cereal. Nicely rounded and just sweet enough. Very competent.
