Our robust Porter shows bittersweet flavors of coffee and dark chocolate. It has very complex malt character enhanced by yeast fruitiness.

Sampled @ GBBF day 3. Very dark brown to black color, virtually no head. Smell and taste malts, a lot of herbs or spices, lightly roast, lots of spices. Medium body and carbonation. Not my thing at all.

Cask gravity at the 2014 GBBF. With ginger and orange peel. Nose is big candied ginger preserve, spicy and fresh bit not much else. Opaque dark brown coloured pour wiry a halo of cream head head. Flavour is big ginger, spicy orange tang and dark choc, ginger dominates the flavour. Palate is medium full with highish carbonation. Too much ginger.

Cask - Ginger - Ginger and a bit of spice. Jet black with no head. Ginger and roasted malts, light chocolate with a bit of ginger on the finish. Although I find the ginger harsh on the nose, it works ok in the flavor.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a small foamy dark tan head that faded quickly and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was dark fruits, toasty malts and hints of wood and marshmallow. The flavor was dryish, roasty and bitter with notes of chocolate, vanilla, marshmallow, fruity hops and a hint of port wine. Medium length finish. Medium body. Solid.

Surprisingly good. Very rich and robust roast malt aroma. Pungent and thick. Some light booze and caramel with a bite of bitter dark chocolate. Well balanced. Thick and rich on palate. Medium bitter finish. Bottle at Capital Lounge.

12 ounce bottle. Opaque black color with a medium-sized bubbly tan head. Rich mocha malt nose. Creamy roasted malt flavor has notes of cocoa and coffee. Balanced nicely with spicy hops in the finish. This is very straight-forward tasty porter.

Draught @ Fire Works, Arlington, VA. Pours cloudy very dark brown with small tan head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel, coffee and roast. Roasty flavour with malty and caramellish notes. Warming but unobtrusive alcohol presence. Sourish aftertaste of coffee beans. Very well balanced. Very good.
