Our robust Porter shows bittersweet flavors of coffee and dark chocolate. It has very complex malt character enhanced by yeast fruitiness.

Dark brown with a tan head. Roast malt aroma, cocoa powder, coffee. Rich roasty flavor, roast malt bitterness. I’d like a little less bitterness in this.

12oz bottle. Opaque brown-black with a rusty beige head. Sweet brown-sugar and chocolate aroma. A pretty big, rugged, Porter. This is quite a nice beer, Creamy, almost milky body. Rich and quite filling, this is a great new addition to the Mid-Atlantic beer scene.

Served on draft at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA on 3/22/11. Pours a very dark brown color with a creamy tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, faint berry-like fruits and leafy hops. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, caramel and a bitter hoppy finish. Well balanced. Medium bodied. Damn good porter. Welcome to Virginia guys...

Port City Brewing Company, Va: Pours pretty much black with a brownish head. Aroma is of chocolate, with a few fruit notes, some mild coffee is in there as well. Body is nice and creamy; it isn’t heavy and it is plenty smooth even on a 90 degree day like today. Flavor is plentiful. Somewhat sweet. Not really going much in the bitter direction. A well-balanced brew and easily my favorite from these guys. I spent all my extra drink tickets on these jawns.
