The Bons Vœux is a blond top fermentation beer with refermentation in the bottle.
Since 1970, the brewery has been brewing a special beer to give as a new years present to their best clients. (the name of this beer “Avec les bons Vœux de la brasserie Dupont » means « With the best wishes of the brewery Dupont » ).
Because of the increasing success, they started to commercialise this “cadeau” but kept the name. Although the demands were considerable, only a small quantity was brewed, so they had to make a reservation list, even months before new year.
This Bons Vœux is coppery blond, has very fine hoparomas and tastes bitter, fruity and mild.
Our selection of yeasts, in combination with a longduring riping process, on a “dry hopping” base, are creating a typical and complex aroma and taste.
A real refermentation in the bottle, which will continue for a long time in your cellar, result in a harmonious and well-balanced beer, full of unexpected and complex aromas.

Draft pour to a schooner at Elliott bay pizza. Pours a clear bright golden color with a thin fizz head. Champagne yeast like aroma with a soft apple. Flavor is a bright apple throughout, with a constant Belgian yeast, soft banana and citrus, and a semi dry finish. Enjoy the dominant apple for sure. Pretty good.

Tap at the Delirium Cafe, Brussels. Poured a murky straw colour with a frothy white head and lots of clingy lace. The aroma is yeast, some citrus, light toffee caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth yeast, alcohol bitter palate. The alcohol and yeast are dominating this beer and the aftertaste is not pleasant. I really don’t get the high ratings here. It’s an average tripel, nothing more.

On tap at Macche in Rome-Italy. Pours cloudy golden color, incredible white cap with retention. Nose: orange zest, coriander, spices, it is Christmas! Mouth: easy but complex, spicy character, super dry and clean end. Just great! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fles thuis. Mooi donkerblond met fris witte kraag. Ruikt een beetje kelderachtig. Zoete mout, zacht kruidenpalet van koriander, basilicum, munt. Sinaasappel en limoenrasp. Fruitig, deegachtig, bijna melkachtig, verfrissend. Soepel met zachte bruis. Erg lekker bier! Mooie fles ook.

750 ml bottle. Unclear golden body with a big, lacing white head. Aroma of citric fruit, Saison spices, oranges, and alcohol. Flavor is sweet malt, citric fruit, spices, white sugar, hint of caramel and a bit sharp alcohol. Fine body and medium aftertaste. It’s a decent triple with elements from Saison with some complexity, still I have some problem see the greatness from a 99 point score here.

37,5cl bottle from SIP veini- ja õllepood, Tallinn. Pours slightly hazy golden with a fairly large, white head. Fruity and slightly citrusy with yeasty notes, malt, spices and herbs. Moderate to medium sweet with complex, fruity, yeasty and hoppy flavours and a surprisingly bitterness. Certainly a tasty brew, alcohol very well integrated and quite easy to drink. Nice one!

DuPont Avec Les Bons Voeux 9.5% Picked up this Winter Seasonal Belgian Tripel last winter in Rome but it is widely available in Japan at all fine retailers with a better than average belgian beer selection. Pouring a dense orange-honey hold with a big aroma: tart, fruits(peach & pear), white pepper and a rich wine like character. Fairly full bodied, it has a raspy round carbonation but finished very dry. The taste is plums, stone fruits, nuts (maybe almonds?) & some spiciness. Remarkably light flavor for a 9.5% beer. You don't taste it but you definitely get that warmth radiating from your happy stomach. Really nice stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, 20/11/15. Hazed golden orange with a decent off white covering. Nose is fruit cake, caramel, orange rind, light bread, yeast, trace of spice. Taste comprises bitter orange, candied fruit peel, straw, fruit loaf, caramel, light vanilla essence. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with warming alcohol. Solid well balanced affair as opposed to the usual sugary boost jus. Deserves it’s place at the top of the triple tree.

Bottle. Hazy orange color with fluffy white head. Aroma is barnyard, yeasty, fruit-estery, heavy wheat, bananas, vanilla, a bit citrusy. Taste is a complex flavour explosion: Fermented apples, a touch of vinegar, lemons, wheat, spicy yeasts, heavy mouthfeel, not too sweet, warming boozy finish, high carbonation. Best Triple I’ve ever had. I respect Triples, although it’s not my favourite style, but this one completely overwhelmed me. Probably because I like yeast-forward stuff and this has barnyard and vinegar flavours and is very Saison-y. 8-4-9-4-17Tap at Moeder Lambic. Finally, not a green bottle! This really does win a little bit. So tasty! 8-4-9-5-17

Bottle. Hazy orange, airy white froth. Sweet malt aroma, some spice and yeast, appropriate amounts of glue later on. Flavour is sweet, malty with notes of banana candy and whiffs of alcohol. Finish is cornflakes, very malty. Soft and creamy mouthfeel with nice bitter bite.
