Draft at gingerman this reminds me of a draft ice coffee on nitro. Dark brown pour. Nose is coffee and some rich chocolate notes. Tastes of espresso, vanilla, chocolate lava cake filling, earth, some piney hops. Not too sweet and quite tasty.

Pours mahogany tinged deep brown into a shaker. Mocha head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Brown bread, yeast and milk chocolate aromas. Medium bodied and sweet with milky chocolate syrup and coffee upfront turning to bitter espresso in the dry finish.

Can thanks to Alan. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong cold brew, brownie, cracker malt. Thick mouth, chewy, roast, dark chocolate, vanilla, cracker, light dryness, very good.

Draft at the brewery taproom. Pours black-brown with a frothy tan head. Lots of strong coffee in the nose, good roast, dry cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with some bitter espresso, bitter scorched earth, baking cocoa. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Finaihes with light alcohol warmth, continuing hearty coffee, robust roasted malts, bittersweet baking cocoa, dried fruits. Good stuff.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated 12/01/2015. Aroma has a moderate roast note with medium coffee character adding some nuttiness as well as a bit of dark fruit. Moderately strong chocolate notes with some light toffee and caramel. Hints of raisin and dried fruit. Pours black with a medium tall, moderately thick, mocha head that recedes steadily to a thin film that lingers thicker on the edges. Medium light lacing and small legs. Flavor has a medium light sweetness with some chocolate, and toffee notes upfront. This is quickly washed away by coffee and a lingering roast note. Coffee has a light nuttiness with some dried fruit and berries. Medium bitterness with dark chocolate lingering in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low, but present astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent coffee porter but there is a hint in the aroma that it may be turning with a big of a green pepper/phenolic note. Nice chocolate notes though with a balanced roast character.

Poured from can 1/5/16 dark cola color with a nice thick mocha head. Aromas of dark chocolate coffee and roasted malt. Taste is roasty and sweet with notes following aroma a nice creamy thick mouth feel.

Bottle shared at the December MDF tasting. Dark brown, thin fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, coffee. The taste is chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, vanilla, roasted malt. Medium bodied, lingering roasty bitterness. Nice.

Dark, ebony body has slight mahogany edges and a tan head with moderate retention.
Coffee and chocolate in the nose is pretty in-line with a coffee porter. Vanilla, roast and so on....Quite dry, not sure what roast was used but it seems very acidic and pungent. Probably some sort of dark roast. A bit of alcohol in the nose.
Rather a bit less body than expected. Not thin or anything, but the coffee and/or alcohol seems to cut the texture, adding a lot of oiliness. Plentiful sweetness arrives on the end, turning things nearly fudgey but for the lingering, dark, roasted flavors. A bit of a tanginess to it and not really all that much creaminess or suppleness to the texture. Or not as much as I’d prefer, anyways. Still, as with almost all their beers, the flavors are true and good.
This has to be the very tail-end of a big batch as this stuff has been on tap for seemingly ever and there are bottles in every store I go in. So maybe it’s lost a little bit.

750 ml bottle purchased at Redstone Liquors. Bottle dated stamped 9/18/2015 with ABV of 6.7 %. Pitch black color, thin bubbles head around the sides of the snifter. Aroma has a nice solid amount of earthy coffee bean, dry roast and ale yeast.

The coffee bean has a earthy character and lingers for a good amount after the sip. The base has a very dry roasted chocolate grain/ malt. The coffee bean is plentiful through the sip and to my surprise the body is very nice for a porter. Medium in body that has a richer fullness not always found in the style. This would make for a very nice after dinner / after lunch beer. Coffee is bold.

Tap at the brewery. It pours pretty much black with a decent beige head. The nose is rich roast, bitter-sweet, plenty of coffee, cacao nibs, touch of treacle, more coffee and earth. The taste is rich roast, big espresso coffee vibe, mild acidity, toasty, earth, charred wood, touch of ash and pepper with a dry, coffee-driven finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Certainly not lacking in coffee! Punchy, yet remains very drinkable. Good one,
