Terminal Gravity ESG is an American Golden Ale. Light and refreshing but also complex, with a crispness from flaked rye and a hint of peat smoke. Subtle hops from the Rhine and Yakima river valleys do not overwhelm.

Pours relatively clear golden, nice fluffy white head. Aroma is grainy, bit of wet cardboard there, probably not the freshest beer around. Tastes sweetish, crisp malts, some honey sweetness. Finishing dry and with some dry bitterness scorching my tongue for a bit longer. Drinks OK, feels maybe slightly oxidised and overall, still not very complicated. Would like to have it when its at its freshest, probably would bee pretty nice summer day companion.

On tap hazy golden peach color thin soapy off white head Web like lacing. Standard light malt slightly bready flavors. A bit amped up and enough noble hop bitterness to give it some character.

Bottle from Brewster’s, Point Roberts, WA
Cloudy golden color, creamy head. Dry and lean, with some vegetables, correct bitterness, maybe some light infection. Average.

12 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out bread malt, some cardboard, and English hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with bready malt, tart citrus and some lightly stale cardboardy notes. Nothing special, but it works well enough.

Not very bitter for an ESB. Hazy golden body with creamy head. Malty nose with a touch of citrus. Malt again in the taste, mouthfeel slick and oily. Closer to a golden ale....

Shipped to me by my wife on a trip to Portland. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy yellow-golden color with a medium sized soapy yellow-white head. The aroma was sweetish and tangy with notes of sugar, pear and apricot. The flavor was dryish and a bit malty with a dusty and chalky presence and hints of table sugar, pepper and leather. Medium length dry cardboard on the finish. Medium body. Eh.

12 oz bottle into English pint. Aroma is wort, bread, but very subdued. Pours a slightly hazy lemonade color with a medium dissapearing head. Taste is bananas, pepper, citrus. Taste is salty then sweet; no bitterness. Highly carbonated with a full body. Creamy mouthfeel. Doesn’t taste like any ESB I’ve ever had--it’s much better. The banana esters make it reminiscent of a hefeweizen and the pepper notes remind me of a saison. Interesting and really tasty. Would be a perfect session brew.

Bottle. Hazy, light golden color with a white head. Light citrus hop aroma, backed by some light malt. Thin to medium body with fizzy/creamy carbonation. Flavor is mild malt with lemon citrus hop, and noble hop. Finish is dry and decently bitter. Leaves a spice tingle in the mouth.

On Tap at the Old Boise Brew Fest 07 pours out a cloudy gold topped with a white head. A nice little light hop just a little bitter not bad.
