Tap at Cafe De Tete. Japanese beer rating 1000! Not blonde! Aroma is nice, berries, raspberry, bit of cherry, blueberry. Taste is great, fruity, light funk and sourness, leather, creaminess, but spritzy. Really nice. Finish is cherry drops

Bottle shared at the WWWW Mid Atlantic Summer Beer Tasting. Hazy pink-purple, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of earth and sweet blueberries. The taste is tart blueberries and mild earth. Medium bodied, low carbonation, lingering tartness.

Tap at Qbrick. Reddish pink, cloudy, with a fine head. Nose is wheat, berries, acid. Nicely tart flavor, wheat, fruity berries. Crisp and light a bit like a Berliner weisse. Good fruity tartness makes it a nice summer drink.

Bottle from CBB. Haskap Blonde which is made with the haskap berry. What’s that? I have no idea! It is known as honeyberry in Russia and is a waxy looking blue berry roughly 1cm long with the name haskap being based on an Ainu word. Sounds cool, I’d love to grow some! For something that is billed as a blonde ale it pours a really remarkable deep purple red with a thick head of pink foam. A great ara of tart berry goodness with maybe just the slightest hint of the belgian yeast they used. Sharp spritzy carbonation. Wow, does this pack some interesting flavors. Tart, then sweet berries but with a sort of earthy/cork like caracter, some saltiness like from a sea breeze, wine, this is quite nuts. The closest I can get is like those odd Cantillons I’ve had (Soleil de Minuit, Tyrnilambic Baie d’Argousier), nowhere near as sour or tart as them but with a similar unfamiliar berriness. The aftertaste on this is great - soft sweet berries similar to blueberries. A great collaboration.
