Bright gold in colour, with a compact foamy head. Fruity and floral notes from the use of orange-blossom honey and slow refermentation in the bottle. Great elegance, harmony and balance on the palate. Every sip finishes with the tang of hops, with the invitation to continue the experience.

Tastes like Italy. And by that I mean, dirty streets and racist soccer fans.

0.35 l fancy bottle from Vrutak, Zagreb. Shared with little Dina. Hazy golden, small off-white head. Very fruity and quite yeasty. Firstly, ripe pome fruit, red apple and quinces. Lemony touch with a soapy or metallic tone. Spicy phenolic background. Also a floral hint. Doughy element underneath. Honey sweetness begins to dominate the palate, very sweet for the style. Hints of hops and spices underneath. Mostly grainy and a bit sugary. Meaty body. Fruity tones emerge. High carbonation, light finish. Unusual but nice with a few odd choices.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/31/2017. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy medium golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, red apple, melon, peppercorn, clove, light banana, honey, white bread dough, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, honey, bready malt, light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, red apple, melon, peppercorn, clove, light banana, honey, white bread dough, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/grassy bitterness and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, peach, pear, red apple, melon, peppercorn, clove, light banana, honey, white bread dough, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, honey, bready malt, light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/spiciness balance; and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 6%. Overall this is an excellent Belgian pale ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, honey, bready malt, light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink; with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Perfectly balanced yeast, malts, and honey flavors; with solid earthy hop presence. The yeast character reminds me a lot of Brooklyn Sorachi Ace, so I am not surprised; seeing as Garret helped them make this beer. Might be the same strain. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
