Tap at CBM Jinbocho. Very pale blond, very clear, small white head. Aroma is bit like japanese toothpaste, slightly herbal, slightly minty, apple too but like an artificial apple candy flavouring (Nerds I think), bubble gum. Taste is nice enough, more apple, slight sourness, not as much as I was expecting, full on herbal medicinal, maybe a bit much. Boozy sweetness too. I like it, but a saison shouldn't be this strong and this overpowering I reckon. Prefer something a bit more subtle.

Aroma’s the best thing here with traditional saison characteristic and only a hint of the band aids to come. Flavor, on the other hand, isn’t so good. I can pick up the saison, but the apple corrupts it and creates the band aid- blech. Body is a touch on the thin side. Thankfully, the finish isn’t long.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow with small white head. The aroma is strong apple skin, spice, yeast. Medium mouth, funky, grain, light apple flavor, lingering dry finish, very good.

Tap at Ape. Tart apple nose, pilsner malt, cinnamon and lots of spice. Clear gold. Tart apple flavor, saison yeast with a decent saison character, bit basically apple pie with way too much spice in there. Smooth, medium body. No thanks.

22 ounce bottle. Release # 63; 7.8% ABV. Pale yellow gold color. Small creamy white head. Yeasty malt nose has obvious notes of Apple, cloves, cinnamon and cardamom. Flavor is semi-sweet with crisp apple notes. More cinnamon and cloves in midtaste. Tart and dry fruit as well. Yeasty notes in finish. Some spicy hops with warming alcohol. Comes across a a cross between a Farmhouse Ale and a Cider.

Bottled@SBWF2015. Golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is floral, wooden, herbal and some mild apple skins to it. Flavour is ginger, some apples skins, mild fruity and wooden notes with some very strange things going on.

Growler from Albertsons. Release 62. Notable that this straight up Saison in aroma and taste, fruit comes in second. Musty, yeasty, bready aroma. Taste follows with floral, yeasty Saison tastes, accented by the sour apples. Saison nature shines through

Sample at SBWF. Hazy golden with small off white head. Peppery aroma with marzipan, yeas and citrus. Dry and peppery taste with loads of spices. I don’t feel much sourness and almost no apples. Way too much spices in this one.
