Draft at Atom Milano Ginza Tokyo. Hazy rust colour, creamy beige head. Aroma of earth, caramel malt, faint metal, and nuts, finishes with burnt sugar. Soft carbon. Medium bitter, lightly sweet.

Tap at Bankan. Dark reddish brown with a small off-white head. Grassy hop notes with some good malt balance on the nose with a touch of smoke. Grassy with some lightly sweet malts and and a touch of smoked bacon. Really interesting, and surprised to find a bit of smoke in there. Good lightly bitter, grassy, crisp finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Red Ale on 03 Aug 2015 at 20:04 - Score: 7

Draught at the Craft Beer Festival in Ichinoseki, Iwate. Red-orange color with a small head. Dusty, vegetal aroma. Light flavor; medicinal and grassy; not good at all. Bitter hop finish. Nothing much going for it. Maybe a bad batch?

Deep amber red color. No head, German malts. Sour malty nose. Sweet, malty caramel mouth with a bit of butterscotch. As chad said not bad.
