Keyaki. Interesting. Lots of barrel, white wine, little funk. Only light booziness but it crept up as it warmed. Really interesting for a Japanese brewery to make this kind of beer.

Tap at Bakuon 2018 as F-Fusion. This is a barley wine fermented with ginjo sake yeast. golden color like a regular lager. Nose is a slightly muddled ginjo sake: spicy, pepper, cedar, apple, pear. Flavor is just like a low-strength ginjo, rather spicy and fruity and I can't believe there is no rice in here. A super interesting hybrid fusion beer--just needs to be a little cleaner.

Draft - Sweet plum, some anise and ’Asian’ notes. Clear gold with a small white head. Sweet, plum and fruity notes with raisin. Very liqueur like.

mells like apple skins, peaches. Very light nose, like champagne and it uses champagne yeast. Looks like apple juice. The mouth is very light. Low carbonation apple skins, slightly tannic with some apricots. Low carbonation. Warming finish. Hides booze well in the mouth though. Doesn’t particularly remind me of beer but decent enough.

Fall Keyaki 2015. Clear orange with a small off-white head that lingers throughout. Good lacing as well. Champagne, rice, pear, apple and light grain on the nose. Smooth with average carbonation. A bit boozy as it warms, but hides the 13% abv fairly well. --- Beer merged from original tick of F3 ~Fusion~ on 21 Sep 2015 at 15:08 - Score: 7
