This ale marks our journey to the only place on the planet where fresh hops are harvested in our spring, the Southern Hemisphere. Our task was daunting-we needed to get the hops picked, dried, flown halfway across the world and into our brew kettle in a little over a week’s time. The result is a North-by-South fusion of fresh New Zealand hops blended with the finest North American malts. Its robust hop character presents an intriguing floral-citrus aroma leading to layers of fresh-hop spiciness. Enjoy!

Big bottle. Pours an ambery copper with a moderate white head. Aroma is woody - taste is very bitter but in a sharp way rather than a bludgeoning way, whatever that means.

great looking beer! beautiful orange/amber pour, and a thick off white head, wonderful full hop aroma, big notes of citrus, and zest. Flavour is much of the same, super juicy mouthfeel, and body. A great IPA, and incredibly drinkable, and great to have while watching the NFL.

Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum can, canned on May 23, 2018, poured into a tulip. Cloudy light orange with big white head. Aroma is light herbal hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and a little lacing. Taste is citrus hops, herbal hops, and bitter finish.

12 oz can from the new mix pack. I guess this is where it belongs. Aroma is lightly catty, grapefruit, melon, mango, light passion fruit. Pours hazy golden with a one finger cream-colored head with good retention. Taste is moderately bitter with a little candy sweetness; pithy bitterness lingers long after the swallow. Almost seems like an attempt at a NE style, although it's a lot more bitter than is typical. Perfect mouthfeel. Nice one.

Tap at BurgerMania in Ebisu. Amber with a thin off-white head. Honey and biscuits all over the nose with some pine and resin. Interesting spiced floral notes. Taste has some citrus, but seems muted by the malt. Bitter finish. Pretty underwhelming.

Medium amber color. The nose shows citrus with a bit of white wine though not too strong. Well balanced, medium body with slightly prickly hop character though the hops themselves don’t shine so much. Overall decent beer but doesn’t blow me away.

Bottle from QClub - ~110 days old, so a bit longer than ideal. Beautiful copper orange pour with big foamy head and fine carbonation. Aroma is mango/tropical fruit dank hoppiness (but not that big) and biscuity bready malt. Taste is similar to how I remember the other northern hemisphere one, and to the SN celebration ale. Spiced hops with a heavy malt backbone. A little disappointing in the taste. Something about it characteristic SN, but not that exciting. Oh well. Now I've tried both the hemispheres and they're nearly identical. Perhaps if they were fresher.
