Bottled. Pours dark not much head. Obviously cocoa and booze, as well as some blackberry and such.

22oz bottle pours out black topped with a small tan head. Nose is nice roast malts some bourbon barrel notes. Taste is more of the nice rich roast malts and a balanced bourbon barrel.

Taster at bottle share clear dark brown black. Smooth dark roast clean light bodied. Modest hops. Simple but tasty

Rich deep brown body with a hazy smoke glow and a thin, fast-dying tan head, just showing oil after it fades. Aroma of smoke, oak, vanilla, rye, grain, caramelised sugars and a lot of pungent alcohol warmth. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong roasted malt flavour with a good dose of bourbon, oak, grain, vanilla, honey, rye, peat and a touch of smoke as well. Aftertaste is just as complex with a large alcohol warmth throughout, also showing some subdued oatmeal, malt, grain, nut and raisin sweetness and finishing with the bourbon barrel flavour. Overall, a nice beer with more of a kick than I was expecting - bordering on a barrel-aged stout or an imperial stout instead of ’simply’ a Baltic Porter, but not a bad option in any book. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 30-March-2014 for US$8,99 sampled at home in Washington on 17-November-2015, about 20 months after purchase.

Bottle shared at at tasting. Thanks Tim! Pours a deep black with ruby highlights. Roasted malt, light roasted coffee, dark fruit and soy sauce on the nose. Taste is roasty with some light sweetness. On tap into a shaker showing pitch black with sparse white foam. The nose shows extremely subtle latte notes. The palate is light bodied and extremely well carbonated - it’s mostly just a mouth full of foam. Shows dark chocolate with very light coffee flavors more akin to a latte. Bitterness is also light and easy like a latte.

Dark brown color, served with no head. Aroma of dark malts, cocoa powder, impression of chemicals (phenol). Lean body, despite the high initial gravity; the flavor focuses too much in dark caramel, with a clear presence of heavily roasted nuts in the final; light residual sweetness. Rather simple in its conception.
It’s a decent beer, but I regret getting a large glass of it.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours jet black with a small tan head. Nose brings out rich notes of chocolate upfront, followed by roast and some dry cocoa powder. Flavour is similar, bringing out a rich balanced palate of cocoa powder and roasted malt, with a touch of coffee and even smaller touch of vanilla. Robust and impeccably balanced big beer. Excellent.
