12 oz. bottle. Pours black, with a big, bubbly, beige head. The aroma is milk chocolate, star anise, light dust, and syrup. Very sweet and malty. Medium body, with a syrupy, malty, and chalky mouthfeel and a clean body. This is a thoroughly enjoyable beer, like a chocolate shake.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish tan head, only a centimetre tall at first. Aroma of super pungent milk, lactose, lightly roasted malt, some raisins, oats and a dose of grain and even some mushrooms in the mix here. Medium-bodied; Assertive sweet flavours of chcoolate, raisins, roasted malt and oats and finishing with even a hint of tobacco and sweet prunes and plums. Aftertaste is almost just as robust with a distinct profile of walnuts, pecans, raisins, plums, grain and some oats - very nice throughout. Overall, a nice and incredibly deep and pungent beer with a great level of sweetness, a superb amount of different flavours emanating from this, along with a surprise level of complexity and balance this all seems to have make this an excellent option. I was expecting this to be tremendously over-rated and not worth your time/effort, but it's exactly the opposite. This beer is great and a leading example of the style - it's executed almost flawlessly and the amount of different distinct flavours is amazing. Nice to try and even better knowing that it is such a good beer that people typically (myself included) can't find regularly make this even better. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Corner Store (Bait & Tackle) in West Palm Beach, Florida on 26-December-2017 for a crazy $4,49 (but in retrospect, worth every cent) sampled in my hotel room here in Cocoa Beach, Florida on 27-December-2017.

12 oz. bottle thanks to jcwattsrugger. Pours a dark brown color with a medium creamy tan head that fades slowly. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and coffee. Light to medium body but right for a porter. Flavor is a solid amount of roasted malt, cocoa nibs and vanilla bean. The finish is sweet with a chocolate milk finish. Pretty good and spot on even for the style.

Draught at Row 34, 2/22/17.
Dark cocoa-mahogany with a tan head showing strong retention.
Strong fudge, dusty cocoa and a fair amount of prune interlaced with light lactose which adds both sweet and tart. Bready and lightly caramelic on the finish with no alcohol or flaw.
Lots of malt, fudge, chocolate and light lactose in this one. Some thinning on the end, though it still retains plenty of sugar. Light roast, spice and almost cinnamon-like on the end with no alcohol or flaw. Just a touch too much sweet/tart and dry cocoa juxtaposition for me with lots of lingering fudge. Low to moderate, fairly engaging carbonation with no alcohol or flaw.
