Inspired by traditional Bavarian techniques, Kellerweis is a true artisan experience. With Kellerweis, we brew in open fermentation tanks—a process rarely seen today—to let the ingredients truly shine. The result is a hazy wheat ale—untamed, raw and alive. With a full, fruity aroma and notes of spicy clove and banana bread, Kellerweis is a truly unique brew.

Old rating from 22-01-15 - 355ml bottle poured at home, it's hazy orange with a small white head. Aromas & tastes of banana, cloves, citrus, bread, wheat, grain, hints of spice & malt. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Mild bitter finish. Outstanding

Notes from July 2009 Poured into a weizen glass laden with a tourist trap logo I'm too ashamed to mention. Swirled & poured out the last third like a good Sierra Nevada fanboy. Got nearly nothing but a new picket white fence for my effort. Once settled, it turns a muddy orange/peach color. Smell is doughy, with ripe banana, coriander, & lavender & violet florals. Big presence. Taste is much like a watered down orange banana smoothie. Very yeasty, feeling sort of dusty, like Orange Julius cheaped out & used powdered milk. Reddi Whip sweetness. Finish is yeasty bitterness & some faint grassy hops. Carbonation is too low for me. Feel is too chalky the way SN wants to serve it. A second decanted bottle, though much thinner, proved better. Where's my Franziskaner?

Smell- weak malt, wheat, faint banana. Foam- thin, soft, malt, some wheat. Head is small, white color. Appearance- brewer bottle cap and possibly unique to beer as well. Clear orange-amber, some carbonation inside. From- snifter (too lazy to change) Taste - malt, wheat, weak banana. Refreshing, light, neutral. Very drinkable.
