At first, all is darkness. Thick chocolate and coffee notes swirl about the pallet. However, all tastes are rapidly encompassed by the roar of blinding liquorice. The Root of the Cambrian Explosion is laid bare, the flavour sensation has brought forth the pathway to our human transcendence. Drink deep, and be taken back to the Cambrian Root.

1/4/2020. Can from Hopsters, Ipswich. As Cambrian Root. Pours lovely deep dark brown with a good size beige head, a richer pour than it's fairly modest abv suggested. Aroma is lovely. Chocolate, sweet liquorice, coffee, salted caramel, moderate roasting and a touch of leather. Medium sweetness, subtle bitterness which develops more as a roasty bitter side develops and compliments the sweetness well. Quite full bodied with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Very good all round. Very much enjoyed this. Gets a lot from it's 5.1%.

Tap@ Mikkeller Helsinki. Poured pitch black with a thin brown head. Lovely licorice notes with milkyness, roastedness, chocolate. Smooth with licorice lingering. Excellent stuff.

Pours dark, clear brown to black. Smell is coffee, milder caramel. Taste starts a bit bitter, coffee, ends dry, than ( very lately ! ) turns extremely caramelly , sweet, sticky. Not my thing, but very interesting and leaving me to wonder how they've pulled this off.
