Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy golden color. Mild aroma, American yeast, some vegetable, cabbage, but very light. Lean mouthfeel, moderate sweerness, some caramel flavor that doesn’t make up for the lack of malt depth, hints of petrol and vegetables. The alcohol is well hidden.
Unfortunately this is kind of common Belgian imitation, this part of the Atlantic.
Not too bad, but I wouldn’t be able to drink 12oz of this.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of Belgian yeast, candied sugar and lots of sweet fruity esters. Flavour is all that's wrong with a North American Belgian strong, with lots of fruity esters, candied sugar, and alcohol heat. Not-integrated nor complex in any way, just abrasive and amateurly constructed. No good.

Tap @ Beer Temple. Hazy yellow golden color. Dense white head. Aroma’s: sweetish, herbs, wet hop?, caramel. Retronasal it sweetish, herbs. Flavor is moderate sweet with a good dose of bitterness. Medium bodied. Quite dry and rather bitter finish. A bit strange, but OK.

Bomber - hazy straw color - soapy lace - nose of lemongrass, pepper, musky citrus, tropical fruit - flavor is spicy, herbal - citrus peel, moderately prickly acidity - mild funkiness - as it warms, there is a bit too much apparent alcohol - would love to see a version with the abv dialed down a bit, because there are a lot of good thinks happening otherwise.

Bomber from Corti Bros. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is sort of peppery perry/cider. Med + body. Flavor is peppery pear/apple with citrus, even zest notes, and some earthiness. No question it’s a saison, but it’s really an extremely flavorful one. Ok, so it’s down as a Belgian Strong - but it’s fruity saison to me. Imperial saison. Rings my chimes. It’s rich and flavorful. Fairly dry and not really bitter. Just full of flavor.

Sample at SBWF 2016. Golden with a small white head. On the sweet side with malt, some herbs, yeast and light fruit. The body was medium.
