Pour is a black with some red highlights and a small tan head. Aroma is a big intense roasted malt with a bit of coffee and red fruit. Flavor is again a huge burnt almost charred malt with a bit of molasses sweetness on the tongue after the swallow. This is a real nice Impy stout with no extra barrel, adjuncts or additions.

Bottle from Secret Santa. Almost black and opague. Raisin and roast in the aroma. Malty sweetish, roasty flavor with raisin, blackcurrant and a touch of caramel. Some earthy hops in the finish. Almost perfectly balanced, tasty brew.

12 oz. bottle. Unsure, but probably 2013 vintage, received in trade from Treebute. Pours black, with a small, bubbly, tan head. The aroma is assertive, with notes of molasses, licorice, cloves, chocolate syrup, and light espresso. Sweet and sugary, with a mild bitterness. Heavy body, with a syrupy feel and a little grainy. This is a mellow, balanced, and decadent stout. Just delicious.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle from 2013 vintage. Aroma is super sugary with caramel, toffee, brown sugar and chocolate notes with light roast. Some light alcohol spice and hints of dark fruit notes. Pours jet black with a medium small, thick, mocha head that recedes slowly to the edges where it lingers. Light lacing and moderate legs. Flavor is rather sweet with lots of chocolate notes as well as caramel and toffee. Light roast and toasted bread notes. Medium low bitterness and light alcohol spice. Hints of dark fruit and raisin. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low, but present alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice stout that has aged really well. The malt profile isn't as chocolate and roast forward as I have come to expect with a lot more sugary notes.

Tap @ BOT. Chocolate, milk chocolate, bit of vanilla. Fairly sweet. Poor - a bit surprising.

On tap at Great Lakes CLE. Pitch black under a small lingering khaki head that leaves some tight lace. Nose is coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, licorice and roasted nuts. Flavour is lightly sweet malts with a medium+ coffee and dark chocolate bitterness. Mouth is full and creamy with soft carbonation. Alcohol is well integrated and warming. 8+/4/8/4/17

12 oz bottle poured, sent over by prufrockstar. Huge thanks! Always wanted to try some Great Lakes. Pours jet black with a thin, tan ring head. Love the chocolate character in this. Spicy, toasty malt aroma. Flavor is a nice chocolate constant, some slight hop influence, but not as much as it seems, in my opinion. Solid flavor, creamy, and quite tasty as an overall. Very nice.
