Can picked up from Brewer’s Haven. Deep brown color with a thick creamy finger of tan head. Nice aroma, full of rich coffee and roast, a little sweetness. Very nice coffee smells… leads into a coffee-centric taste with minimal sweetness and some more roast. All about the coffee, just a little lactose. Creamy feel and a little slick, maybe a tad on the thin side. Would be more than adequate as a breakfast beer.

12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 2/3/2017. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy dark reddish brown color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of nutty medium roast coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toasted oats, dark/brown bread, vanilla, cream, light smoke/herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, lactose, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of nutty medium roast coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toasted oats, dark/brown bread, vanilla, cream, light smoke/herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal hop and roasted coffee bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of nutty coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toasted oats, dark/brown bread, vanilla, cream, light smoke/herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, lactose, and light earthy hop flavors; with an awesome roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and slightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.5%. Overall this is a delicious coffee oatmeal milk stout. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, lactose, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful for the ABV and spot on to style, with plenty of coffee presence. A very enjoyable offering.

Can. Dark brown, large foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, lactose. The taste is chocolate, coffee, lactose, roast, a bit of fruitiness. Medium bodied. Solid.

Can from Kroger. Pours a deep brown with a creamy beige head that lingers then dissipates. Huge coffee forward nose with some milk chocolate in the background. Creamy front but mid is a tad thin. Low acridity. Smooth. --- Beer merged from original tick of Golden Road Sunset Coffee Oatmeal Milk Stout on 21 May 2017 at 21:51 - Score: 7. Can: Huge, cascading tan head over rubied-cola-brown. Coffee, oatmeal, roast aroma. Taste is roasty, lactic, coffee, chocolate malt, oats. Body is slightly light, but no lack of flavour. Very solid.
