Dead Ringer Oktoberfest lager is inspired by old-style Mãrzen brews customarily enjoyed during Bavaria's world-famous beer festival. Thanks to it's abundance of toasted malt and a lower hop bitterness, this dark reddish brown lager is loaded with sweet, caramel toffee flavors and aromas. All the taste and celebration of Oktoberfest packed into one bottle; no lederhosen required.

Many thanks to Peter for this bottle! Grainy malty nose. The beer starts grainy and malty. Easy to drink, moderate bitter in the aftertaste with a nice and round malty body. Round and deep, moderate bitter, very smooth and round. Very nice, smooth with a nice bitterness and a nice depth. Very nice!

Nice and crisp deep brown coloured body with a smooth, two to three centimetre tall rich light brown head. Aroma of copper, metal, light grass, a ton of caramel, nuts and yeastie scents and ending with a dash of grain and very light spices. Medium-bodied; Strong showing of chocolate and caramel notes with a heavy hand of grass and pure nuttiness with hazlenuts and pecans leading the way, that end with a smooth, but lightly bittered dash of grain and earthy flavours towards the end with a lot of sweetness, still. Aftertaste shows a blend of metallic notes, a hint of grass and white pepper and ending with a moderate sweetness, mainly from fruit, but also from chocolate. Overall, a nice and rich beer, full of complexity, with some wide-ranging profiles and a nice and sweet kick from the pungent flavours and finally showing some perfumey and grainy characteristics from the rest of the show, but this is well-worth trying, especially if you can find this fresh and still available in New Jersey. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Joe Canal's in Lawrenceville, New Jersey on 21-October-2018 for US$1,78 sampled at my house here in Washington on 18-November-2018.
