Got in a BIF from KMitch. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy medium orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big ruby grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, wood, mint, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big ruby grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, wood, mint, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, wood, mint, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, sticky/resinous/rindy, and fairly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 10%. Overall this is an awesome DIPA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the big ABV, with the moderately bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Awesome Columbus, Warrior, Cascade, Simcoe, Chinook profile. Very juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; nice sized bready malt backbone, but not overly sweet/heavy from crisp/resinous dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive classically hopped style example!

On tap at Good People, pours a clear copper with a small beige head. Aroma is very malty, with a subdued earthy hop character and lots of bready malt. Flavour is way too malty, with earthy hops, herbal notes and sweet bready malt. Way too malty, the hops aren't dialed in right, and there is no cohesion. Uncoordinated.

Good DIPA, wickedly bitter but with a deep, rich caramel backbone and tons of grapefruit and orange marmalade hop notes. Grows peppery and dry on the back end, with loads of pine leading to a clingy, resinous fade. Texture’s a bit spiky—no doubting the ABV on this one—but still a solid beer.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a clear copper with a finger of foam that lingers. Pine and caramel aromas on the nose. Some grassy aromas, toasted bread and grapefruit as it warms. Clean and crisp. Big, bitter finish with good balance between sweet malt and bitter, piney hops. Feels kind of 90s, but still good for those who like less honey in their hopslam. --- Beer merged from original tick of Snake Handler on 27 Jan 2018 at 00:10 - Score: 7. Original review text: Very 90s but solid. Pine, caramel, toasted bread, faint honey plate. Los of l hoppy character on the finish.
