BATCH 24 (blended in May 2016) was distributed as follows:

Type in BATCH
Used barrels Kirsch-schnapps 85%
New Oak Medium Toast 10%
Acacia wood 5%
Batch 24 presents itself with the normal amber brown color of the Quadrupel and has a relatively fragile head. In the enter cherries do smell right away and the equation on with lots of sweet ripe fruit. Besides cherries hints of mango, banana and strawberry come upwards. Also the smells of almond and vanilla are recognizable as that of alcohol, caramelmout and oak wood. The palate is full to even bombastic, warming and challenging and is dominated by cherry. Then come the flavors of vanilla and caramel-sweet and ends in a dry tannin bitter alcoholic aftertaste. The 'cherry-touch' fills the Quadrupel-taste fine, making clear this batch is clearly different from all previous 23 batches. This particular components make batch 24 to a must for the enthusiast.

Bottle from nutjes. Many thanks! Amber colour, beige foam. Sweet nose of banana, wood, cherry liquor. Very subtle and well balanced variant of the quadrupel. I like it.

Bottle thx to Benzai, medium sample. Slight hazy golden to amber color, short frothy head. Aroma of caranel, toffee, slight raisin, bit fruity, slight oak wood. Bit sweet in taste. Barrels give some more complexity to the base beer, which is clearly present still. Good one, but not the best of the bunch.

Bottle shared with Caesar @ Caesars mancave. Clear red to red-brown color, average sized off-white head. Aroma is lightly malts, sweet. Taste malts, sweet. Hmm to be honest this is probably the BA Quad that has the least additional flavor to the regular la trappe quadrupel. Hmm I’m a bit disappointed. Meh.

0.375 l bottle from the monastery. Clear, dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, malty and slightly fruity aroma of caramel, raisins, some cherries, marzipan, almond, cinnamon and a touch of oak. Sweet, malty and slightly fruity taste of caramel, raisins, marzipan, cherries, prunes, some oak and almond, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly yeasty-spicy finish with a sourish touch. Medium to full body, slightly creamy and a little effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Good!
