Bottle from Bierkoning at 8.5% ABV, BB 30/08/15, large sample. Slight hazy amber color, medium off-white head. Aroma of fruity hop, citrus, grapefruit, biscuity malt, bit toffee. Soft to medium bitterness, quite sweet caramel malty, slight alcohol burn. Great balance in aroma between malt and hops. A bit too sweet and boozy in flavor though.

33cl Bottle from Sterk Avondverkoop. ABV is 8.5%. I’ve been searching all over the place during my holidays in Greece to no avail, to eventually find this in a night shop in Amsterdam. Slightly hazy deep orange colour, off-white head. Aroma of oranges, blood orange, citrus, caramel, sweet malts, sticky toffee, pine. Flavour is quite sweet, sticky, sticky toffee, pine, resin, citrus, orange, firm blood orange/grapefruit bitterness with pine and resin, malts, bitter finish. Medium-bodied. It’s tasty, but I found it hard to drink. More US Barley-Wine like. This would be a nice closer after a few beers or during a tasting.

Bottled 330ml @PBFVIII
Clear amber color, small steady white head. Fruity, perfumic aroma. Medium-bodied. Very fruity, almost candy-like sweetness. Quite nice fruity DIPA, probably the best Greek beer.

Bottle from Zythodon, Platanias, Greece. Says vintage 2012 on the label (for some reason). Has a hazy deep orange colour with a small, beige head. Fruity flavour with grapes, fruity hops, oak, orange and hints of barnyeard. Complex. The flavour is more like an imperial india pale ale, compact with grapefruit and something herbal, and has some ammonia in the end. Has a slick and rich mouth feel, and a medium bitterness. Is a fruity and complex DIPA. Really one of a kind.

Aroma is sweet with gooseberry bush, fruity notes and caramel. Flavour is sweet with caramel, hops and biscuits. Surprisingly good and balanced for a Greek DIPA.

500ml bottle @ PBF 2013
Pours dark orange with a smooth head. Aroma of sweet toffee, floral hops, hints of grass and malts. Taste is sweet with notes of toffee, floral hops and caramely malts. Finish is sweet, sticky and malty. A bit stuffy and not very fresh.

Bottled at PBF. Slightly hazy pale amber, mid sized firm head. Distinct piney nose with pineapple and passion fruit. Mid sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Fruity with plenty of tropical fruit hops and pepper alcohol. Mid bitter finish. A well put together, aromatic DIPA on thne sweeter side.
