Can from 504 Craft Beer Reserve, New Orleans. Aroma is roasted malt with chocolate, caramel, molasses, bit sugary, mild liquorice, hint of coffee. Flavour is pretty sweet with a moderate roasty bitterness. Body is medium to full. On the sweet side with molasses and some liquorice but not to the point of becoming a nuisance, the chocolate is nice. Sweet but good.

Deep dark brown coloured body that almost shows as a jet black, 90% opaque body with a thinnish, off-white head, only a centimetre or so tall that fades fairly quickly and leaves just about nothing on top. Aroma of roasted malt, prunes, raisins, molasses, figs, earth, light nuts, chocolate, lactose, cream and way more sweetness with vanilla, treacle and some coffee coming through, quite bitter and very strong, still. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong roasty flavours at first with some vanilla, milk chocolate and deep sweetness from figs, raisins and plums as well as prunes that shows a nice complexity from all the sugars and fruits without too much pungency or pure bitterness from the roast and grainy flavours. Aftertaste is rich, robust and showing a ton of bitter roasted malt and vanilla notes with a lot of dry vanilla and chocolate flavours that also show the prunes and plums - very strong and somewhat or slightly muted, but showing a lot, which was expected at more than 11 per cent. Overall, a very strong and pungent Imperial Stout that is ever-so-slightly tempered and soft, but showing a lot of bitterness, alcohol and especially pungent flavours at the end that do really make it seem that this is around 11 per cent alcohol, in a large-format can, as well! I sampled this sixteen ounce (!!!), pint-sized can, purchased from the Greenville Beer Exchange in Greenville, South Carolina, exactly two years ago on 31-May-2020 for US$3,99 sampled at my house back up in Washington on 31-May-2020, two years later after purchase.

Can. Pitch black body with a dense beige head. Aroma has dark, roasted malt, coffee and quite much booze. Taste is medium sweet, dark roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, nice bitterness and rather much alcohol. Full bodied with a long-lasting aftertaste that ends a bit boozy. Very enjoyable all he way but the booze part is a bit annoying.
