[1/27/17] Bottle/Can/Crowler/Growler at a bottle share at Flamingo Hotel in Santa Rosa. Cloudy yellow. Juicy, tropical fruity hops, dry, moderately bitter. Really good.

Crowler from the brewery, filled yesterday. ABV says 7% on the can. Aroma is strong tropical fruit (mango, papaya, pineapple), fruit cocktail, grapefruit rind, earth, chalky candy, orange creamsicle. Pours super cloudy orangeish-yellow with a thick soapy bone-white head with good retention, leaving curtains of lace. Taste starts out lightly sweet before a medium-high bitterness takes over; flavors of the aroma, along with noticeable alcohol. Carbonation is pretty low. Seems like every time I get a crowler I have carbonation issues. Great beer, but the taste, although very good, was a bit of a let down compared to that damn near perfect aroma. Nice beer for sure.

From a one litre can shared by Bart at the Struise shop in Bruges, cheers! Very thin, egg-white head, moussy but unstable, in the end vanishing into almost nothing, cloudy yellow blonde robe with somewhat ’milky’ appearance, yeasty, a bit witbier-like in appearance. Lots of sweet fruitiness in the nose, granadilla, overripe mango, lychee, rambutan, pineapple, passion fruit lemonade, freshly squeezed orange juice, limoncello, pink pepper. Vividly fruity onset, candied lemon, tangerine and passion fruit sweetness with sourish edge, in all quite crisp with softish carbo, supple and ’fluffy’ mouthfeel, lightly bready malt sweetness gliding smoothly backwards, leading to a very aromatic New World hops finish, lots of passion fruit lemonade-like effects and sweet citrus fruit, yeasty too, softly bittering. Delicate aromatic and sweet tropical fruitiness is one popular direction in contemporary IPAs and this is a typical example; too bad for the lack of head and overly yeasty appearance, but beautiful in terms of pure flavour.

On tap at Great Notion, pours a cloudy opaque peachy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is very dank and citrusy in the hop department, followed by tropical fruits and dry caramel malt. Flavour is very juicy, with loads of tropical fruits and citrusy hops upfront, with zero astringency and just enough malt backing. Fresh, dank, juicy and delicious. Fantastic stuff.

Crowler at the bottle share. Hoppy aroma; citrus and fruity, floral, and somewhat dank. Big hop flavors, heavy bitterness, but enough sweet to balance. Nice use of the hop flavors with the tropical fruits being at the forefront.

On tap at great notion Portland. Pours out a oran juice muddy. Nose is weed orange juice tropical fruit hops some sweetness. Taste is more of the nice sweet tropical fruit hops plenty sweetness.

On tap at Great Notion brewpub in Portland-USA. Dark super cloudy orangey color, medium white foam. Nose: orange, tropical ripe fruit, very aromatic. Mouth: thin in some way, lemonade, hint of lime bitterness, easy. Quite tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
