Bottle. Cigarette ash and corn aroma. Extremely pale yellow color with small head. Sweet corn malt and bitter herb flavor. Bad even for a Central American lager.

Total Wine & More, Chantilly 12oz ($2): Pours a golden colour with a foamy white head. Aroma is a bit grassy and the like. This is not an offensive beer; instead it is pretty light and grassy. Very drinkable and, to me, it was not in the least bit offensive.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 10/10/11

Aroma: The nose is fairly light with notes of grain and grass mostly
Appearance: It pours a clear golden-yellow color with a fluffy white head and medium lace
Flavor: The taste is much like the nose, lightly sweet and with a subtle bitterness as well
Palate: This one drinks really easily, light and smooth, with a slight crispness to it
Overall Impression: My 2nd rating from Honduras! Also, my 100th Pale Lager rating, which is the probably the least exciting accomplishment in all of beer rating. I knew what I was getting myself into here, and I pretty much got what I was expecting. I needed to fill out a mixed 6-pack, and I knew I wasn't getting anything more then a tick, but it isn't as bad as the overall reviews would indicate.

Stop number two while on the Carnival Valor was Roatan in Honduras where I was able to sample Salva Vida. I asked the waiter if they had any darker beers and he recommended this one. I’m not sure he understood me :) I had this twice while there once in a can and once in a bottle. I found the canned brew metallic, and slightly more carbonated. Poured into a clear plastic cup at Fat Tuesday’s produced a liquid of pale gold color and a minimal head that went poof in the heat. Smells of corn and light husky grain minimal hops with a slight earthy aroma as well. Taste is what I expected. Light sweet malt, corn, slight dms. Smooth creamy/watery mouthfeel, medium body, crisp carbonation. Not a bad quick thirst quencher on a hot day.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden with a small frothy white head. The aroma is corn malt and metal. Medium mouthfeel with a tangy malt and metallica finish. Not much going on with this pale lager.
