Papegaei is a blond beer with an alcohol volume of 8%. The beer is lightly drinkable and has a rich bouquet of hops. Papegaei is brewed with fresh hop flowers, which means that the flowers are dried but not turned into an extract or pellets, so they keep their natural form (and taste!). The mash of Papegaei contains barley, wheat and oats. Papegaei is a top fermented beer with a second fermentation in the bottle. The beer is neither filtered nor pasteurized.
Papegaei is brewed and bottled by Adam Verstraete at the Deca brewery in Woesten.

Bottled@HBF2016. Hazy yellowish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is mild spices, some citrus, mild gluelike alcohol as well as some slight yeastiness. Flavour is quite similar, leaving a quite alcoholic and sweetish ripe fruity aftertaste. Quite rich carbonation.

0,33l bottle at home. BB . quite a gusher this one. orange very cloudy color, big white head. smells belgian yeasty, spices, light sweetness, apricot. OK smell not overly exciting. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes belgian yeasty, light sweetness, some fruits, peach and apricot, spices, some grassy notes. finishes rather dry and with notes of belgian yeast and peach. decent stuff, not overly complex, but enjoy- and drinkable none the less, not much more though.
