A true Geuze. A blend of 1, 2, and 3 year-old lambic unfiltered and unpasteurized and aged in the bottle for at least 6 months after blending. Continued fermentation in the bottle give this Geuze its famous champagne-like spritziness. The lambic that goes into it is brewed only with 60% barley malt, 40% unmalted wheat, aged hops, and water, spontaneously fermented by wild yeasts, and matured in oak casks.

3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze is a blend of one-, two-, and three-year old lambics. Spontaneous fermentation, patient maturation in oak barrels, and continued evolution of the ecosystem in the bottle result in a distinctively complex and elegant natural beer. No two bottlings are alike, as there are multiple variables in the blending process, a variety of barrel sizes and shapes, differences in aged lambic proportions in the blend, etc. When cellared properly, 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze can be aged for several decades. The aromas and flavours will evolve from notes of vibrant fresh citrus, zesty and grassy notes to a mellow, oaky, stone fruit bouquet as the lambic continues to develop with time. Lambic and Geuze are living, cultural heritage rooted in the Zenne valley! Taste, savour, enjoy and experience this bottle fermented, unfiltered, unpasteurised and unadulterated beer with friends new and old!

375ml bottle bought from the Offie, Leicester and drunk at home. Deep gold, mostly clear with an end em film of white head. Tart aroma with some acidic lemon juice. Clean, tart, taste, fleshy stone fruit, touches of crabapple. Mellows to suggestions of soft citrus in the finish with more chalky tartness in lingering. Heavily carbonated. Wow.

Bottle. A- Funk, hay, old wood, damp cloth. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Horse blanket, subtle brine, mild dill, lemon, faint alcohol, slightly acidic. P- Light body, average texture, effervescent carbonation, complex finish. O- 17/18 bottling at 5 years old. A robust funk on the nose that translated in to the palate but refreshing with a slight citrusy acid to bind the funk into a complex flavor. Well made for sure. Paired really well with some Bacalhau Cod Tartlets for my first beer of 2024.

Bottle, thank you Jonas - happy new year! Murky goldenish. Berries, a lot of them, different ones, I dont know, but not the lazy sweet ones. Taste is tart, sweet, it's perfect for right now. Ok, I admit, should probably write more useful stuff - but it is still very good.

#lambiclauantai. A bit flat, funky and oaky with hints of sherry, ripe fruits, mild sourness and farmyardy yeastiness. Could've used a bit more carbonation
